Baccarat Betting Strategy
This article does not represent Mr. Tang’s opinion.
I’ve been meaning to share my Baccarat betting strategy for a while. Although I haven’t achieved significant winnings with it, I believe it has potential, and I hope that more experienced players can help refine it for better results. Here’s an overview of my approach, which, while not yet profitable, can help prevent major losses.
Strategy Overview: Explore, Test, and Apply
1. Exploration (一探):
In my strategy, profitability largely depends on spotting “Dragons” and “Streaks.”
- Dragon Definitions: I classify Dragons into three types:
- BBBBBBBBB (Long Banker Streak)
- PPPPPPPPPP (Long Player Streak)
- PBPBPBPBP (Long Alternating Streak)
When none of these Dragons form, I use another pattern:
- Reverse Betting: PPBBPPBB (Alternating Streaks)
2. Testing (二试):
Focus on the three types of streaks, with a preference for alternating streaks when both options are available. This preference is purely habitual and has no specific advantage, but once you pick a pattern, you stick with it.
- Initial Bet: Start with a random bet or even choose not to bet at all.
- If the first hand is Banker (B): If the pattern becomes an alternating streak (BP), bet on Player (P). If it’s a Banker streak, bet on Banker (B). If you prefer a streak approach, you can bet on Banker (B) as well.
- After Two Hands: If the outcome is BB, it indicates the start of a Banker streak. Continue betting on Banker (B). If it’s BP, start betting on the next streak.
- If the pattern is BBP: Bet on the alternating streak (B).
- If the pattern is BBB: Continue betting on Banker (B).
- If the pattern is BBPB: Start betting on the alternating streak (P).
3. Applying (三进):
When a Dragon pattern appears, start betting accordingly. If you lose in the earlier stages, it signals a losing streak; conversely, if you’re winning, it marks the beginning of a winning streak. Adjust your bets based on these observations.
Betting Systems
First Betting System: Aggressive but Potentially Profitable
- For Streaks: Use the sequence 1, 2, 6, 14, 30.
- For Alternating Patterns: Use the sequence 1, 3, 7, 15, 31.
- If a Bet Fails: Return to the starting amounts (1 or 2).
- Initial Bet: Start with 1 if it’s a new shoe; otherwise, continue with 1 if the first hand is open.
- If the First Two Hands are PP or BB: Bet on the streak with 2 units. If it’s PB or BP, bet on the alternating pattern with 3 units.
- If You Lose Three Consecutive Bets: Switch to alternating streaks or revert to normal betting.
Second Betting System: Simple and Conservative
- Use the sequence 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5.
- Chasing Losses: Start chasing losses only after you’ve won a bet. Don’t chase if you lose; instead, use smaller increments (1, 2, 4 or 1, 3, 5) to recover losses.
- Limit Chasing: Avoid rapid increases in bet sizes. If you’re in a losing streak, focus on stability to avoid significant losses.
Special Notes:
- During Shoes: If there are no long streaks or alternating patterns exceeding four, it’s considered a losing streak. During such periods, be cautious with bets, and don’t overextend your bankroll.
- Short Streaks: Shoes with fewer than four long streaks are rare. If you encounter one, observe carefully. If the shoe is particularly short, switching tables might be advisable.
Conclusion
Although my strategy might not be perfect, I believe it can prevent significant losses and offer a foundation for more refined methods. The key is to avoid drastic increases in bets, manage your bankroll carefully, and stay adaptable. I hope this approach and the insights into betting systems provide a helpful starting point.
